SITUACIÓN

España está situada al oeste de Europa  dentro de la Península Ibérica. Nuestros países vecinos son: Portugal al oeste y Francia al norte.

Al sur, separado por el Estrecho de Gibraltar, empieza el continente africano. Esto hace que España se considere un puente geográfico entre África y Europa.

GEOGRAFÍA

España ocupa una extensión de 504.501 km. Tiene un relieve muy montañoso. En el centro se encuentra la Meseta que está rodeada por numerosas cordilleras destacando el Sistema Ibérico al este y los Sistemas Béticos y Penibéticos en el sur. Una de las cordilleras mas importantes son los Pirineos situados al norte de la península y sirven de frontera natural con Francia.

Los ríos que atraviesan nuestro país no son muy largos ni caudalosos. Destacamos entre ellos el Ebro que pasa por nuestra comunidad, Aragón.

La península está bañada por distintos mares: al norte se encuentra el mar Cantábrico, al sur el Océano Atlántico y al este el Mar Mediterráneo.

España tiene dos archipiélagos: Las Islas Baleares en el Mar Mediterráneo y Las Islas Canarias en el Océano Atlántico frente África. También forman parte de España dos ciudades que se encuentra al norte de África: Ceuta y Melilla.

COMUNIDADES AUTÓNOMAS

España es una monarquía parlamentaria. Nuestro Rey es Juan Carlos I y la capital del estado es Madrid. Nuestra bandera tiene dos franjas horizontales rojas y una amarilla y en el centro el escudo.(VER FOTO)

El Estado está organizado en 17 Comunidades Autónomas: Cataluña, País Vasco, Galicia, Comunidad Valenciana, Andalucía, Extremadura, Madrid, Principado de Asturias, Castilla la Mancha, Castilla y León, La Rioja, Navarra, Murcia, Aragón, Islas Baleares, Islas Canarias y Cantabria.

ARAGÓN

La Comunidad Autónoma de Aragón se encuentra al noreste de España. Al estar situada en el interior no tiene costas. Está formada por tres provincias: Huesca, al norte;  Zaragoza, en el centro y Teruel, al sur.

La capital de esta comunidad autónoma es Zaragoza y donde se concentra la mayor parte de la población.

SITUATION

Spain is situated west of Europe within the Iberian Peninsula. Our neighbour countries are: Portugal in the west and France in the north.

In the south, separated by the Gibraltar strait, the African continent starts. This makes Spain a geographical bridge between Africa and Europe.

GEOGRAPHY

Spain ocupies 504.501 km2. It is mountainous. In the centre there is the Meseta (highland); surrounded by  different mountain ranges: Sistema Ibérico, Sistema Penibético and Sistemas Béticos. One of the main mountain ranges is the Pyrinees, in the north of the Peninsula which is a natural border with France.

The rivers that go through our country are not long or with much water; anomg them the Ebro which passes through our region: Aragón. 

The peninsula is surrounded by different seas: in the north is the Cantabric sea and  also in the south the Atlantic ocean and in the east the Mediterranean Sea.

Spain has two archipelagos: the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea and the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean opposite the north African coast. Ceuta and Melilla, on the north Mediterranean coast of Africa, also form part of Spain.
 

AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES.

Spain is a parliametary monachy. Our king is Don Juan Carlos I and the capital is Madrid. Our flag has two red horizontal lines and a yellow one between them and the shield in the middle. (SEE PHOTO)

 ARAGÓN

The Aragón Autonomous Community is situated in the northeast of Spain. As it is inland it does not have coasts. It is formed by three provinces: Huesca, in the north; Zaragoza in the centre and Teruel in the south.

The capital of the autonomous community is Zaragoza where most of the population is placed.
